Somebody S2 E1: Welcome to the some-stay

Somebody is back for season 2! If you haven’t watched Season 1, I strongly recommend it. Somebody is a reality show on Mnet that brings together 10 dancers of various genres to dance with each other – and possible form love connections on the way. We know from Season 1 that couples can form (yay Joori and Seung Hyuk) so we are going into this with a positive attitude! The first episode is a intro into each dancer. They give a short intro and actually give a short dance in front of them. Hye Soo got the most first impression votes. Her genre is Korean Modern Dance. It’s no mystery that she got the most attention as she gives off the sweet, cute lovely vibes all at once. She’s very elegant in her dances as she twirls to IU’s Through the Night. And there are definitely at least two guys that fall for her hard with these moves. Yena is the next to go. Initially, the response from the viewers were pretty negative. She revealed …

Love Catcher S2 E8: The truth comes out + Where are they now?

Before you get into episode 3, remember to read about episode 1 here and episode 2 here and episode 3 here and episode 4 here and episode 5 here and episode 6 here and episode 7 here! Dun, dun dun! The final episode! Everyone’s identities will finally be revealed in this review. And I also have been following the members on their Instagram and I will share my thoughts on where they are now! This time it’s the guys’ turn to choose their dates. Jung Jin chooses Sae Ra, Yeon Woo chooses So Young, In Ook and Chan Woo choose Ga Bin. In Ook’s the most confident as he walks in the girls’ room as now everyone knows he’s a Love Catcher (and the girls all want him). He even asks Ga Bin on a date in front of everyone (ha, Yeon Woo in the middle of them). I think this is adorable. The tension in this room gets high as shortly after this, Chan Woo comes into the room and asks Ga Bin to come outside with him – where he asks her on a …

Love Catcher S2 E7: Love lines strengthen

Before you get into episode 3, remember to read about episode 1 here and episode 2 here and episode 3 here and episode 4 here and episode 5 here and episode 6 here! Everyone looks like they’ve had a rough night. Just to recap, they had to send two roommates home the night before. But can someone tell me why Chan Woo has to wear a suit to breakfast? Today’s mission has given an upper hand to the girls: they have to pick two guys they want to go on a date with. The flipside is that the guys pick one person from their list. It seems like Sae Ra is pretty set. She only has her eyes on Jung Jin (and vice versa). The girls choose as follows (along with who the guys picked): Sae Ra: Jung Jin and Chan Woo So Young: In Ook and Yeon Woo Yeon Seo: In Ook and Yeon Woo Ga Bin: In Ook and Chan Woo This episode gives you the feels by starting off with Jung Jin and Sae Ra first. They’re definitely googly eyes for …

Love Catcher S2 E6: The most suspicious get eliminated

Before you get into episode 3, remember to read about episode 1 here and episode 2 here and episode 3 here and episode 4 here and episode 5 here! It’s been a long time coming and definitely overdue but here are the recaps and my thoughts of the last three episodes of this nail-biting reality show! We ended the last episode with Chan Woo trying to secretly ask Ga Bin on a date in front of everyone but she didn’t buy it. And we start this episode with Yeon Woo doing Min Suk’s hair as they get ready for the last couple’s challenge: doll making. So Young is finally coupled with In Ook. She has been eyeing him since the first meeting and is definitely excited about the date! Young Seo and Chan Woo have a heart-to-heart on the car ride to their date. Yeong Seo worries that she didn’t express herself enough and Chan Woo worries that the person he likes is slowly pushing themselves away. When everyone arrives at the cafe, the first scene is finger curling. So Young acts …

Why I stopped blogging (and why I’m starting again)

On one of my posts, there was one comment I remember clearly: “Why do you write on topics like this? Nobody cares. Stop blogging.” It stung. It stung hard. It was one comment but the words were sharp. I sat with my laptop on the floor and cried all of that Thursday night. And the next day, I decided to not write on my blog again. It’s taken me 56 days to get back to my site again, and I’m still nervous when I think back to how I felt that one day. Since then, a lot of things have changed. The sidewalks are now filled with winter parkas, and coffee shops smell like pumpkin spice lattes. Instead of ‘Hot Girl Summer’ we are singing carols and waiting patiently for those Black Friday deals to drop. But in my personal life, I feel almost lifeless. Even with all the changes around me, I felt – and still feel – stuck in that moment to when I read that. Not too long after that time, news …
